Pepper markets continue firm with narrow movements within a tight range. The overall undertone remains firm/bullish. The Indian exchanges seem to rebound quickly after any decrease in price. This of course is watched closely by the Vietnam traders who have been holding onto pricing so far. With a least 50% of the crop harvested and sold, sales pressure we think ,will not be forthcoming from Vietnam. Buyers are looking at Indonesia to figure out what they will do and hope to see some pressure which is not happening at this stage. It should be noted that Indonesia is now the cheapest source for good quality ASTA pepper. Overall consuming market remain quiet yet steady with increased demand form middle east "Ramadan" markets.
